How should I prepare my maps for China?

Save each hotel and key destination with its Chinese name, address and booking details. Search for a few places in your chosen map before leaving, and check that the map pin matches the address.

Apple states that its Maps service in China uses Amap. Whatever app you choose, test it again after arrival: access and features can differ between roaming data and local Wi-Fi.
